STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

All Applicants - Only new non-resident applications accepted electronically. Amendments to existing licensees must be submitted to AK DOI.
All Applicants – Must Include Business Fax number on application.
Individuals in a firm – If an Insurance Agency Affiliation is entered, the affiliation should be actively licensed in AK.
Individual - a person that does not represent or is affiliated with a business entity (firm)
Individual in a firm - a person that represents or is affiliated with a business entity (firm)
Designated Responsible Person (Compliance Officer) - the individual designated by the business entity (firm) that is responsible for the firm's compliance with the laws and regulations for Alaska
Designated Responsible Person (Compliance Officer) - The business entity the individual represents is also required to submit the Business Entity Uniform Application.
Business Entities - The designated responsible producer (compliance officer) is also required to submit the Individual Uniform Application for Producer -Compliance Officer.
Business Entities - The compliance officer must hold lines of authority being requested by the Business Entity.
Variable Applicant must enter FINRA CRD number on application for Variable authority.
All ADJUSTERSmust hold an active resident license in their home state.
All SURPLUS LINES BROKERS must hold a property/casualty producer license.
All fees are nonrefundable (3 AAC 31.060(a)(2))
Alaska will allow reinstatement of a license if:

License status is not active
Expiration date is > 1 day and up to 730 days
Use the NRL application to reinstate

Reinstatement due to a lapse for nonpayment of renewal fees will result in late penalty fees of $100 if 1-60 days late; and $200 over 61 days late in addition to renewal fee
Licenses will be issued with an expiration date determined by date of birth:

If you were born in an even numbered year, your license will expire on your birthday in an even numbered year
If you were born in an odd numbered year, your license will expire on your birthday in an odd numbered year
If all filing requirements are not met within four (4) months from the date filed, the application will be considered withdrawn and a complete new application, including new application fees will be required pursuant to AS 21.27.020(g).

Violation of the following rules will result in a decline response.

Non-Citizens who do not hold a U.S. Resident license will be declined.
Variable Annuity and Variable Life Applicants must provide their CRD#.
Applicant applying for or already holding P&C in Alaska may not also apply for Personal Lines since Personal Lines is included in P & C authority and not necessary.
Business Fax number on all applications is required/mandatory.
If applicant selects Producer-Individual in a Firm or Producer Compliance Officer the application must have at least one affiliation.
Adjusters not licensed in their home state will be declined.
Surplus lines brokers not holding an active property/casualty license will be declined.
