STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

State fees will not be collected by NIPR (on behalf of HI) when a transaction is declined according to HI business rules. Transaction fees and processing fees will still apply. Violation of the following rules will result in a decline response.

You can only apply electronically for the LOAs of Accident and Health or Sickness, Casualty, Life, Property, Variable Annuities and Surety.

You cannot apply electronically if:

1. You are not a U.S. citizen.
2. You answer “Yes” to any background question.
3. You have had regulatory actions taken against you.
4. You are adding classes to an existing license. Submit notice in writing. There is no fee.
5. You are reactivating a license. Submit a paper application and pay with checks.

Business Entity Applicants:

Please confirm through PDB that each Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) holds an active license with the required authorities prior to submitting the business entity application.

The DRLP must hold an active individual license in HI.

To be licensed for Variable Annuities you must apply for both Life and Variable Annuities.

The sum of all LOAs applied for by the Business Entity in HI, must be covered by the sum of the DRLP’s active LOAs on his/her HI license.

Individual Applicants:

You must be 18 years old or older as determined from the applicant’s Date of Birth.

You must enter NASD CRD number on application for Variable Annuities. CRD must show registered in HI, in order to have Variable Annuities on HI license.

To be licensed for Variable Annuities you must apply for both Life and Variable Annuities.
