STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants who provide an affirmative
answer to any of the background questions should fax a written, signed
explanation, along with court documents, for each incident in connection
with that answer. Failure to
supply the necessary documents within 90 days of application will result in
denial of the application.
- Variable Annuities:
Applicant must concurrently apply for the Life line of authority in
order to carry a Variable line. Applicant
(individual or business entity) must either show the Variable line on their
domicile state license on the PDB, or send CRD/NASD report showing state
registrations. The CRD number should be entered in the application
information as well. See below
if adding Variable to an existing Idaho non-resident license.
- Business Entities
applying electronically must have a designated producer who is currently
licensed in Idaho and holds the same lines of authority the business is
requesting for their license. Business
entities must file with the Idaho Secretary of State to do business in Idaho
before submitting an electronic application for insurance license.
Please go to: www.idsos.state.id.us
to find forms and instructions for filing.
- Idaho does not license Sole
Proprietors as business entities. Please
contact the ID Dept of Insurance for instructions for licensing options in
this circumstance.
- Idaho is a reciprocal
state. Idaho will issue non-resident licenses for business
entities and individuals based on licensure in their home state.
If a business or individual does not hold a license or line of
insurance in their home state, Idaho will not issue them a license or line
of authority.
- Idaho allows application for all
major lines of authority under one license.
Only one application is required.
- If your citizenship
is other than U.S., please fax a copy of your green card, per NAIC
rules.
