STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- If the loa the applicant is applying for is not listed in the nonresident license application, please select "other", complete a Maryland Supplement form listing the "other" line and fax or mail the form to the Maryland DOI. The supplement can be found at: http://www.mdinsurance.state.md.us
- Variable: Applicant must submit proof of Series 63, Series 7, or Series 6 ONLY if NIPR can not electronically verify that the applicant holds Variable in their resident state. Then fax documents to (410) 468-2399.
State fees will be collected by NIPR (on behalf of MD) when a transaction is
declined according to MD business rules. Transaction fees and processing fees
will also apply. Violation of the following rules will result in a decline
response.
- Applicant must not have an inactive Non Resident
license in MD that has been inactive for less than one year.
- Individual applicants - Applicant must be 18
years old or older as determined from the applicant’s Date of Birth.
- Non-Citizens who do not hold a U.S. Resident
license cannot apply electronically.
- Individual
applicants - Applicant applying for Variable Contracts must
also apply for or have Life LOA in MD.
