STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Notice: Effective immediately, criminal history records provided by the NH State Police are no longer required as a condition for producer or adjuster licensing. The department is moving forward in joining other states, in conjunction with the NAIC, to adopt fingerprinting which will facilitate a national criminal history check. The implementation date and details of this future change have not yet been determined.
- Applicants cannot renew the license prior to 60 days before expiration
- Upon answering any of the background questions with a “YES” response, please send
- a written statement explaining the circumstances
- a certified copy of the official document which demonstrates the resolution of the charges or any final judgment

Please include Name, SSN/FEIN, and NIPR Transaction Number on correspondence.
- Designated producer(s) are required to hold an active NH license (resident license or non-resident) and cumulatively hold all lines of authority requested on the application.
- Producer’s listed as Designated Producers must also be specified under the Owners, Partners, Officers or Directors section of the application.
- Any documentation required by this Department must be received within 30 days of application date. After that date the application will be declined and closed.
- Licensing Fee's are non-refundable
State fees will not be collected by NIPR (on behalf of NH) when a transaction is declined according to NH business rules. Transaction fees and processing fees will still apply. Violation of the following rules will result in a decline response.
- Applicant must be 18 years old or older as determined from the applicant’s Date of Birth.
- Non-Citizen of U.S. must hold U.S. resident license.
- Applicant renewing the Surplus Lines must also hold or renew the Property & Casualty LOA.
- Applicants renewing the Variable Contracts LOA must also hold or renew the Life LOA..
- Business Entity applicants - Must be a Legal Business Type.

- 3 - Limited Liability Partnership
- 4 - Corporation
- 5 - Sole Proprietor
Continuing Education:
- Resident producer with any of the major lines are required to have 24 hours per license cycle, inclusive of 3 hours in ethics.
- There are no CE requirements for resident producers with limited lines only
