State Specific Requirements:
- Canadian Citizens cannot apply electronically. Submit a paper application to New Mexico Public Regulation Commission Insurance Division, Agent Licensing Bureau.
- At least one Producers Designated on the Business Entity application must have an active NM license for the applicable lines of authority on the PDB. Must submit form 202B (Additions/Deletions to Business) with fees to the NMID within sixty working days from the date the business license is issued. If form 202B and fees are not received within 60 days from the date the license is issued, the license will be cancelled. Form 202B, fee is $20.00 per line of business per individual named. All business entities should be aware that other licensing and registration requirements for corporations and partnerships may exist. Corporations may contact the Corporations Bureau of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission at (505) 827-4508 to determine the applicable requirements and to register. Partnerships may contact the Secretary of State’s Office (505) 827-3600 to determine the applicable requirements and to register. The license will expire April 30th of each year. Notice of Continuation will be mailed to the business entity in March of each year or can be renewed online at NIPR.com.
- When applying for Surplus Line, applicant must have an active Agent license before.
- Agent can not apply for Life + Life, Accident & Health, or Accident & Health + Life, Accident & Health.

- Applications requesting Variable Life/Variable Annuity authority must include the applicant's CRD number when entering application information online. Applicant must be registered with FINRA
- When a transaction is declined all fees are deemed earned when paid and are not refundable according to NM laws.
- All applicants applying for a Variable line of authority need to hold or apply for a Life or Life, Accident and Health line of authority simultaneously.
- All applicants applying for VEHICLE line of authority must actively hold Property AND Casualty
