STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- All applicants will undergo a criminal history background check before
receiving a license from the TX DOI.
State fees will be collected by NIPR (on behalf of TX) when a transaction is
declined according to TX business rules. Transaction fees and processing fees
will also apply. Violation of the following rules will result in a decline
response.
- Individual applicants - Applicant must be 18
years old or older as determined from the applicant’s Date of Birth.
- Business
Entity applicants - Legal Business Type, Sole Proprietorship, not
accepted electronically.
- Business Entity applicants - Designated Producers specified on the application (question #25), must also be specified as Owners, Partners, Officers or Directors (question # 25).
- When requesting the "Variable" LOA in Texas you must have an active "Life, Accident, Health & HMO" LOA OR a "Life" individual license which are defined as the following two license classes: License class "General Lines Agency/Agent" with the LOA "Life, Accident, Health & HMO" OR "Life" LOA individually with the license class of "Life Agency/Agent". When holding either of these two licenses class as they are defined above you may be appointed with a company that offers "Variable Annuities" or Variable Life.
