STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Licenses are renewed annually.
  • Non-Resident Adjusters, whose home state does not issue Adjuster licenses and who qualified for WV non-resident Adjuster licenses, cannot renew online.  Paper renewal and check is required.
  • The West Virginia website will indicate the new expiration date after the fee has been posted to the producer or business entity record. Go to www.wvinsurance.gov, Quick Search, to look up either producer or agency status.
  • Renewed licenses can be printed online at www.wvinsurance.gov, ONLINE LICENSE PRINT, after the renewal fee has been posted to the West Virginia Insurance Commissioner's records.
  • West Virginia no longer prints or mails license cards. Licenses can be printed from the WVOIC website at http://www.wvinsurance.gov/, ONLINE LICENSE PRINT. Check the website the next day after a renewal is submitted thru NIPR to search for the renewed license.
    Licenses for applicants with ""YES"" responses to any Background question will not appear until the WVOIC has received and reviewed the appropriate information concerning the ""YES"" response.
  • For Individuals: Electronic renewal will be available until 5-31-2009. There is no grace period after the due date. If the fee is not paid by 5-31-2009, the license will be non-renewed and all active company appointments will be terminated. After 5-31-2009 licensees would need to complete the Late Renewal Form found at http://www.wvinsurance.gov/, pay the appropriate late fee, then seek re-appointment with any insurance companies where appointment is needed.
  • For Business Entities: Electronic renewal will be available until 6-30-2009. There is no grace period after the due date. If the fee is not paid by 6-30-2009, the license will be non-renewed. After 6-30-2009 licensees would need to complete the Late Renewal Form found at www.wvinsurance.gov and pay the appropriate late fee.

State fees will not be collected by NIPR (on behalf of WV) when a transaction is declined according to WV business rules. Transaction fees and processing fees will still apply. Violation of the following rules will result in a decline response.

Applicant must hold an active renewable license in WV.
Business Applicants - At least one DRLP must hold an active license in WV.
