NIPR CELEBRATES MILESTONE ANNIVERSARY

ST. LOUIS (Sept. 10, 2006) - The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) will celebrate its 10th anniversary this October, marking a decade of initiative, growth and effectiveness in the producer licensing process.

In recognition of the milestone, the NIPR will be hosting a celebration during the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ (NAIC) Fall National Meeting. The reception will take place immediately following the NAIC’s Opening Session on Sunday, Sept. 10 at America’s Ballroom inside America’s Center in downtown St. Louis.

In the 10 years since its inception, the NIPR has become the national leader in the electronic producer licensing process. The NIPR’s unique public-private partnership began with just three states sending data. Currently, more than 1,100 companies in all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, use the NIPR Gateway to process over six million transactions per year.
