Address Change Tool Sees Success New Product Reduces
Paperwork, Processing Time
KANSAS CITY,
Mo. (Dec. 31, 2007) — Since its inception last
summer, the National Insurance Producer Registry's (NIPR) Address
Change Request has seen overwhelming success. By year-end 2007, NIPR
will have processed more than 170,000 ACR transactions. Industry and
state regulatory representatives have been pleased with this free
service and the benefits it has provided.
"Electronic ACR transactions have certainly lived
up to the long-awaited expectations. The number of transactions
we received in the first few weeks was more than we hoped
for — and, within a short time, we noticed a reduction in the number
of paper address change requests," said North Dakota Insurance
Commissioner Adam Hamm. "ACR provides a convenient method for
producers to accurately communicate a vital piece of information to
regulators. It also, at no cost and in one place, allows producers
to view all their current address records for every state, making it
easier for them to monitor and maintain their records."
There are currently 45 jurisdictions participating
in ACR. The remaining six jurisdictions will be added by the end of
the second quarter of 2008. Producers and authorized users can view
the complete list of participating states and submit individual
producer address changes through the NIPR Web site, www.NIPR.com. |
