NIPR RELEASES 2006 ANNUAL REPORT

NEW YORK (March 11, 2007) — The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) today released its 2006 Annual Report. It contains highlights of the year's achievements and progress in the area of producer licensing.

The report is also a celebration of NIPR's accomplishments during its first decade of operation. Incorporated in 1996, with only three states participating, the NIPR Producer Database (PDB) has become the leading producer licensing processing specialist, receiving data from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.

“2006 capped a decade of growth and success," said Maryellen Waggoner, NIPR Executive Director. "I am proud of what we have built, and look forward to working with our partners to complete the licensing puzzle created by the challenges of a changing insurance market. In the coming year, we plan to roll out the first piece – a centralized solution for submitting producer address changes to state licensing departments."

Audited financial statements are a prominent segment of the 2006 report.

An electronic version of the NIPR Annual Report is available online.
