FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRODUCER LICENSING EXPERT
JOINS NIPR

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Feb. 28, 2008) — The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) is pleased to announce Laurie Wolf will join the staff as regulator relations manager, effective March 17, 2008. In her new position, Wolf will work with state producer licensing regulators to achieve the vision of the NIPR board of directors to create a one-stop shopping experience for electronic producer licensing transactions in all states.

Wolf brings a wealth of experience to her new position. For the last 19 years, she has worked at the North Dakota Insurance Department, most recently as Director of Agent Licensing and Investigations. In this position, Wolf oversaw the licensing, continuing education and investigations of insurance agents, agencies and other licensees. She has also served on several National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) working groups focused on crop insurance, viaticals and, most notably, uniform producer licensing initiatives. She is currently chair of the NAIC's Producer Licensing Working Group.

“Laurie’s experience and wealth of knowledge creates a tremendous opportunity for NIPR,” said NIPR Executive Director Maryellen Waggoner. “The NAIC producer licensing coalition recently published a licensing assessment, reinforcing the urgency for an automated process in all states. Laurie’s in-depth knowledge of producer licensing regulations and processes, as well as her recognition within the regulatory community, will lend itself to achieving NIPR’s electronic licensing goals.”

NIPR, the NAIC and producer licensing regulators have made great strides toward licensing uniformity in the decade since NIPR was founded. The remaining work requires automating major offerings and remaining lines of business for individuals and businesses in states not available through NIPR.
