Applicant cannot renew earlier than 90 days prior to license expiration date.

Resident Surplus Lines Broker applicants must actively hold BOTH single lines of Insurance Producer Property and Casualty on the Producer Database.

Professional Bail Bond producers are required to submit an annual financial statement and annual list of forfeitures of bonds by April 30 to the South Dakota Division of Insurance.

Managing General Agent renewal applicants must have an active Insurance Producer license on the Producer Database.

Managing General Agents must apply as new via Resident Licensing after expiration.

Insurance Producer and Surplus Lines Broker applicants must late renew their license through NIPR's Resident License Renewal Application if within one year of expiration. After one year, applicants may reinstate through NIPR's Resident License Application.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax. All other required documentation must be forwarded directly to the state.

Reinstatement Period Begins: Fifth (5th) day after expiration date.
Reinstatement Period: One (1) year past expiration date.

Managing General Agent

You may select your resident state on the following link: Verify My CE to view your CE transcript and determine whether the state has updated your status to compliant in their system and on what date. It generally takes up to 72 hours from the compliance date for the status to be updated in our system.
