2017 Vermont License Renewal Ends
Producer Type Licenses and Business Entity Licenses
All active Producer, Business Entity, Bail Bond Agent, Title Agent, Limited Lines Producers, and Limited Lines Business Entities as well as Managing General Agent licenses will expire March 31, 2017 if not Renewed.
Per Vermont Law, there is no pro-rating of license fees and no grace period in which to submit a late renewal. If not renewed, the licensee will need to reapply for the license.
Renewal notices were EMAILED to all active licensees the first week of January 2017. Those that had not renewed as of February 21, 2017, have been mailed a paper notification.
All renewals must be processed electronically through NIPR.com or Sircon.com Licensees must renew prior to March 31, 2017.
Resident Producers Only: Your Continuing Education must be completed by March 31, 2017. You can submit your electronic renewal application even if you have not yet completed your CE requirement. Your renewal application will be placed in an On-Hold status. If you do not complete your CE requirement or request an extension by March 31, 2017, your license will not be renewed and will lapse. To view your Continuing Education Transcript, go to www.sircon.com to request an extension to complete your CE, go to the Department's website at www.vermontinsuranceagent.info and choose Check CE Credits.
Licenses issued AFTER April 1, 2017 will expire March 31, 2019.

Business Rules (Individual)
Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.
Applicant must have an active or be applying for a Vermont resident producer life license to request variable life and annuities lines of authority (LOAs).
Applicants for the variable LOA must supply FINRA CRD number on application.
Producer applicants applying before March 31st, odd years, will not have the full two (2) years until their next renewal. Example: If an applicant applied on January 31st, 2015 their license would expire March 31st, 2015 and they would need to renew at that time to remain active.
Producer applicants applying after March 31st, odd years, will not have the full two (2) years until their renewal. Example: If an applicant applied on June 30th, 2013 they would have an expiration date of March 31st, 2015.
Applicants applying for a resident license who hold an inactive non-resident license should be allowed to apply.
Applicants will be prevented from applying electronically if they hold an active resident license in another state while applying for a resident license in Vermont.
Resident producer license class must actively carry property and casualty LOAs with Vermont to be eligible to apply for surplus lines license class.
Applicant must have passed the required exam before applying for the requested license.
P.O. Box or Private Mail Box (PMB) addresses will not be accepted for residence address. (P.O. Boxes are acceptable for businesses and mailing addresses).
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

Under Renewal Fees (Business Entity) please change the fee for Resident Limited Lines Producer Business Entity from $30.00 to $150.00
